Position of Children, Youth and Family Worker
Salary £24,000 – £26,000 per annum
This is an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Children, Youth and Family Worker at Shirley Baptist Church in Southampton.
We are a mid-sized multinational church on the New Forest side of the city of Southampton.
We have a growing number of children, young people and families and we are looking to appoint someone to lead and develop a thriving ministry on Sundays and throughout the week to children, young people and families, both in the church and the local community. This will involve developing new activities and initiatives.
The successful person will be able to enter wholehearted into this task and help us make church a place where children, young people and families are invited, welcomed and given the opportunity to encounter God in their lives. We are looking for someone to share our passion to see our children and young people come to faith and grow in a relationship with Jesus.
The successful candidate will:
- have a heart for the gospel and a lifestyle to match
- believe the Bible and want to teach it to all children and young people in clear, creative, engaging and relevant ways
- have previous experience of working with children, young people and families
- have led, organised and developed this or a similar ministry area
- be able to lead, support and train a committed team currently serving in this ministry area
- have good communication and leadership skills, be able to develop strong working relationships with others and gain commitment from them to new initiatives and approaches.
- be confident with using modern technology and relevant online platforms.
