Hi Everyone welcome to Day 12 of 21 days of Prayer. Today we are going to pray that God will remove barriers in our relationship with Him.

Whether we admit it to ourselves or not, we each have idols in our lives. Some of them we have placed ahead of God, and at some points in our lives we have even replaced God with these idols. As Paul travelled through Athens, he discovered that the people were very “religious.” They had idols made of gold and silver, and even one that was inscribed “TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.”

In response to this, you may be thinking, well, I don’t have any statues made of gold and silver in my house that I worship. But what you may have is a car that you don’t let your kids eat in, a significant other who you sacrifice everything for to please, or dream job that you won’t stop at anything to find success in. Whatever it is, an object–success, or a person–we all have something that keeps us from a full relationship with Jesus.

Pray for God to remove barriers in your relationship with Him.

Read Acts 15:36 – 18:22

“From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring’.” – Acts 17:26 – 28 NIV

[Upward] What did this passage reveal to you about God? Praise him for being that God.

[Inward] What did this passage bring up in you? Be honest with God about your questions and shortcomings, your fears and desires.

[Outward] What does this passage call me to in relationship to others in my world? Ask God to help you take your place in the new chapter of the Book of Acts that is being written in your life today.
